Groupset

Shimano Ultegra R8100 has been completely redesigned with all-new ergonomics, even greater brake modulation and the sheer precision of wireless electronic shifting. It delivers the world’s fastest and most reliable wireless shifting and a wide gear range which means no matter how steep a climb is; it’s never outside your comfort zone. Di2 gives you instant, accurate, lightning-fast shifts every time at the push of a button. Even in the most extreme of conditions, shifting is precise and controlled. You can even change gear under heavy load while climbing or accelerating. With Di2, you are in complete control.

Wheelset

Wind tunnel perfected to reduce inertia and maximise your watt output; Cosmic SL 65 offers solo breakaway artists, sturdy sprinters, and triathletes a wind-carving, progressive aerodynamic wheelset for fast, flat road races or windy triathlons. The 65mm deep and 19mm wide NACA rim profile helps to reduce drag, resulting in faster acceleration and enhanced crosswind stability. Paired with Pirelli P Zero road tyres, which balance performance with durability, for both reliability and comfort. The carcass features excellent puncture resistance, whilst coming in at an impressively low weight.

*Please Note: The bike is supplied with the latest version of the Cosmic SL65 wheels, which feature an updated aesthetic. When configuring your build, click the wheelset option to view up-to-date imagery.

Handlebars

Engineered exclusively for our fastest-ever aero bike, the ULTRA-AERO bars redefine aerodynamic integration with a patent-pending, next-generation design. At the heart of this innovation is a groundbreaking wake-generating concept that disrupts airflow, creating a controlled wake for the rider’s legs to sit within while strategically manipulating vortexes to enhance overall aerodynamics. The aggressive, drag-defying anatomic wing top section reinforces the bar’s aero dominance, cutting through the air with precision. But speed isn’t the only priority—comfort is integral to the design. The flat-top section offers a secure and relaxed hand position for climbing, while the ergonomically optimized drops naturally conform to the rider’s palm. With a textured finish that eliminates the need for bar tape, every detail is fine-tuned for performance and control.

Saddle

The ULTRA-AERO seat post features a truncated aerofoil profile that's aerodynamically optimised to reduce drag in the high-speed airflow disturbed by the rider's leg. A composite shaft absorbs road shocks for a vibration-smoothing ride quality further enhanced by a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle. Bringing performance, comfort, and support to any endurance ride or race event, the SLR's neutral shape allows complete freedom of movement without compromising pedalling efficiency or power output.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you're between sizes, we usually recommend going smaller. It's easier to tweak the fit with a longer stem or more seat post, while a bigger frame gives you less room to adjust.
Complete builds based on a medium size: Sport: 8.25 kg - Enthusiast: 8.20 kg - Hero: 7.8 kg - Frame only: 1200 g.
Both use a bespoke blend of T1000 and T800 carbon fibres, but the SL R features more T1000 in its layup. This reduces weight slightly while maintaining the same stiffness, strength, and durability.
We offer a lifetime warranty on all Ribble frames and forks for the original purchaser. This covers any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, so you can ride with complete confidence. The standard manufacturer's warranty covers all other components.
The ULTRA-AERO SL R frameset is approved for use in UCI-sanctioned events. To comply with regulations, the supplied front fork disc brake adaptor must be swapped for the UCI-approved version included with the bike. Failure to make this change may result in disqualification when competing under UCI rules.
Not in the traditional sense. The bars' aggressive profile prevents compatibility with all current extension models. However, we have developed a suitable alternative: the Ultra Aero Extensions. Exclusive to the Ultra SL R, these carbon extensions bolt into the underside of the handlebars, using the two mounting points normally reserved for an out-front computer mount. Anyone wanting to mount a cycle or GPS computer can mount it to the extensions themselves.
The ULTRA-AERO SL R uses a 68 mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell, allowing for ease of maintenance and enhanced reliability.
The upper and lower bearings are P16 40 x 52 x 7 mm 45 x 45° and ACB 40 40 x 51.8 x 8 mm 45 x 45°, respectively.
Yes, the ULTRA-AERO carbon integrated handlebars, in combination with the frameset, enable all the cables to be entirely hidden. This preserves the ultra-sleek lines for maximum drag savings.
The frame is optimised around 28 mm tyres and can fit up to 32 mm, depending on the tread profile and manufacturer.
The ULTRA-AERO SL R features two bottle cage mounts with one on the seat tube and one on the downtube. Both are positioned to work seamlessly with Ribble aero bottle cages for optimal aerodynamic performance.
The frame requires M12 x 125 mm x 1.5 and M12 x 173 mm x 1.5 front and rear thru axles.
No. As a speed-focused aero bike, the frame doesn’t feature integrated mudguard mounts.
We recommend a maximum system weight of 120 kg (bike, rider & luggage).
Yes. The extensions bolt into the underside of the handlebars via the mounting points usually used for an out-front computer mount. A computer or GPS unit can then be mounted to the extensions.
Yes. While the aero profile can limit compatibility, the bars are designed to work with standard out-front computer mounts, which fit neatly underneath.
No. Pedals aren’t included as riders use different systems. You can, however, choose from a range of best-selling pedals when configuring your bike.
