Ribble Rebellion Gears Up for the Armed Forces Cycling Classic

27 May 2024
  • The Ribble Rebellion squadron is set to make waves at the Armed Forces Cycling Classic, racing two distinctive machines that pay homage to two iconic WWII fighter planes.

  • Honouring History with Speed and Style

  • Sporting a distinctive colour clash kit and that distinctive aero-optimised Ultra SL R, Ribble Rebellion has been tearing up the US crits recently. Stealing podiums at Redlands and US Speed Week, our squad is currently on manoeuvres ahead of another rip-roaring challenge. But this time, they'll be racing some distinctive race machines designed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

  • Special Edition Bikes

  • The highlights of our race day lineup include two exceptional bikes: the Ribble Ultra SL R P-51 Mustang Edition, also known as the "Rebellious Ribble," and the Ultra SL R Forces Edition. Both designs seek inspiration from the iconic fighter planes that flew during World War II and were tasked with protecting the Allied beachheads on that historic day.

  • Ribble Ultra SL R P51 Mustang Special Edition 'Rebellious Ribble'

  • Cole Davis will race the 'Rebellious Ribble', which draws artistic inspiration from the iconic P-51 Mustang fighter plane of WW2. In keeping with the 'Cadillac of the skies, ' the bike features Allied D-Day invasion stripes, a striking yellow nose, and USAF insignia, in addition to a D-Day anniversary tribute on its sleek silver fuselage. Fittingly, the design has been applied to Ribble's flagship road model, the aerodynamically optimised Ultra SL R - one of the fastest bikes in the world.

The Mustang Edition spec list reads:

    • Frame: Toray T1000/T800 Carbon Monocoque
    • Bars/Stem: Ultra Aero Carbon Integrated
    • Groupset: Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8100 with Rotor 56/44T chainrings
    • Wheels: Zipp 454 NSW Tubeless Disc
    • Tyres: Pirelli P-Zero Race Tubeless 700x28 Tan Wall
    • Seatpost: Ultra SL R 10mm Layback
    • Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Boost
  • Ribble Ultra SL R Forces Edition

  • The Force Edition takes its artistic interpretation and cue from the legendary WWII Spitfire aircraft livery, adorned with D-Day invasion stripes and an RAF roundel set on the green fuselage. It creatively represents the armed forces and honours all service men and women involved in the historic undertaking to liberate Europe. Identically to the Mustang Edition, the design has been applied to our flagship road model, the aerodynamically optimised Ultra SL R - one of the world's fastest road bikes as tribute. The Force Edition features an authorised one-off Royal British Legion logo adorned with a Kapz Titanium Top Cap to seal the brand union.
